- Download apps by Cycliq Products Pty. Ltd., including CycliqPlus.
Check first if you have the latest firmware. Go to the Fly6 main folder and open the FLY6.VER file using Notepad (Windows) or Text Edit (Mac) and if the firmware version shows 1607040, you have the latest firmware. If not, please follow the steps below on how to update your Fly6[v] firmware.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: There is only one file in this update. Please make sure that the file name is exactly the same as FWSHDV01.bin and not FWSHDV01 (2).bin or similar.
Before you begin, please note:
- Make sure your unit is at least 50% charged before performing the firmware update
- For best results, delete all previously downloaded firmware files prior to downloading and be sure to format your SD card via the app prior to copying the file.
- These firmware updates are not compatible with any other Cycliq devices (Fly12 CE, Fly6 CE, Fly12 or Fly6 Original)
- DO NOT turn the unit off OR remove the microSD card when the unit is in the process of completing a firmware update – this may damage your Fly device
Step 1: Download and transfer the Firmware file
- Download the FWSHDV01.bin here(we recommend using Chrome or Safari)
- Connect your Fly6[v] to your computer
- Copy the FWSHDV01.bin file from your computer into the Fly6[v] main folder
- Disconnect your Fly6[v] and unplug from your computer
Step 2 – Firmware update

- Depress the on/off button quickly
- The process will take up to 20 seconds
- When the flashing lights have stopped, the new firmware is installed
Once you have finished your ride, you will want to review your footage. This can be done via desktop computer or through your mobile device.
Reviewing your footage on your computer
Steps:
- Turn your device off and unmount your device from your bike
- Open the port cover and insert the USB-C cable
- With your computer turned on, insert the USB cable into your computer’s USB port and open Finder (Apple users) or File Explorer (Windows users).
- Turn your Fly12 CE on; the device should be automatically recognised.
- Open Fly12 CE Folder and DCIM folder
- Select your desired recording and watch using your media player
Please note: we recommend using QuickTime or Windows Media Player to view your recorded footage.
Reviewing your footage on your mobile handset
If you have a mobile phone that allows you to access the SD card reader, you can insert your SD card into the slot and access your footage through your mobile handset. This is generally not available on iPhone handsets. To access your footage on your iPhone please scroll down to Reviewing Your Footage with USB On-The-Go.
To access your footage using your phone SD card:
- Turn your device off and unmount your device from your bike.
- Remove your SD card from the SD card slot on the side of the device and insert it into the SD card slot in your handset.
- On your handset go to the File Manager and open external storage > DCIM
- Select your desired recording and copy the file to your smartphone internal
- Once copying is completed, you may remove your SD card from your handset
- Launch CycliqPlus app
- Click the menu button > Video Editor > Gallery > Open File Folder
- You can then edit your footage, add strava data, tramlines and share with your friends through the CycliqPlus app.
If your phone does not have an easily accessible SD card slot, you can also upload footage to your phone using USB On-The-Go.
Reviewing your footage with USB On-The-Go (OTG)
To review your footage with USB OTG you will need a compatible SD card reader (not supplied).

For Apple handsets: insert your SD card into an SD card adaptor then into an iPhoneLightning to SD card camera reader and connect your Fly12 using the supplied USB cable.
Nix sensor app mac. For Android handsets: use a SD card reader that connects to your charging port.
Connect your SD card adaptor to your OTG reader and connect your OTG reader to your phone.

- Open your file manager
- Select your desired recording and import or drag the file to your phone storage
- Launch CycliqPlus app
- Click the menu button > Video Editor > Edit Icon > Open Photos App
